Lowell Instruments Tilt Current Meters provide water velocity measurement for a fraction of the cost of acoustic meters; they measure current using the drag-tilt principle. The logger is buoyant and is anchored to the bottom via a short flexible tether. Moving water tilts the logger in the direction of flow. The meter contains a 3- axis accelerometer and 3-axis magnetometer for measuring tilt and bearing.

Are you using the XBeach model?

Lowell Instruments Tilt Current Meters could be ideal for your project if you are using the XBeach two-dimensional model for wave propagation, long waves and mean flow, sediment transport and morphological changes of the nearshore area, beaches, dunes and back barrier during storms.
