Envirotxt is a plug-in sensor that monitors power outages & temperature. It uses a SIM card to send real-time text message alerts over the GSM 4G (mobile) network to any mobile phone.
Also included is an external temperature sensor with a 1m cable for monitoring a specific area.

Low running costs
As Envirotxt only sends SMSs (text messages), the running costs are extremely low.
SIM/network choice
Envirotxt needs a SIM card to operate, we offer M2M (machine to machine SIMs) and M2M roaming SIMs or you can use off the shelf PAYG (pay as you go SIMs). Envirotxt can only communicate by 4G text message and as it’s a mobile network dependant product we recommend you use the mobile network with the strongest signal where you intend to use Envirotxt.
If you choose to use a PAYG SIM please ensure you send a command to Envirotxt every few weeks/once a month (for example a temperature status request) because if the SIM card is not used for several months OFCOM can sometimes force the mobile operator to take the mobile number back if it’s not being used regularly.
No dangerous lithium batteries
Envirotxt doesn't contain dangerous lithium batteries (it uses ‘capacitance’ to store enough energy to send text alerts when the mains power is lost).

Envirotxt is an innovative plug-in device that monitors temperature and power, Envirotxt sends a real time text message alert if the environment gets too hot/cold or if there is a mains power cut.
It has a built-in temperature sensor which sends text message alerts when the room temperature goes outside of your chosen temperature range, from -10°C to +50°C.

Envirotxt has three main functions:
- It will send a text message alert if the mains power is lost (e.g. a power cut) and also when power is restored
- It sends a text message alert when a pre-set temperature is reached (e.g. if you set the temperature at 3-20°C Envirotxt will send a text alert when the temperature drops below 3°C or rises above 20°C)
- It has a fast temperature rise alert so if the temperature rises too quickly (e.g. 5°C in less than 3 minutes) it will send a text alert (e.g. a fire).
Envirotxt was originally developed for looking after the elderly and vulnerable in winter, but is now used in a wide variety of industries for many applications. Knowing about high/low temperatures and power cuts straight away can also be extremely useful for day to day life, e.g. fridge/freezers, fish tanks, hydroponics etc, but it can be invaluable for critical care equipment or heating/lighting for elderly relatives and vulnerable people.
How Does it Work?
Envirotxt uses a SIM card to send text message alerts through the mobile network, it can use any SIM card on any network and it has a quad band GSM module so it can be used anywhere in the UK there is mobile coverage (EU 2 pin plug version also available).
Envirotxt is an easy, simple and low-cost way to get instant temperature alerts and instant power loss alerts. The power cut alert is automatic, but you can customise the temperature alerts and set any temperature range you require, e.g. if the temperature is set at 16 - 24°C and the temperature drops to 15°C, Envirotxt will send out a text alert to all programmed users.
Envirotxt is a completely wireless remote sensor, it only requires mains power and a SIM card to operate.
Envirotxt has an internal temperature sensor and also a 1m external temperature sensor for monitoring more specific areas (both temperature sensors can send alerts).
