Find out more about Water Flow Meter & Current Sensors

      Extensive range

water flow and current monitoring solutions, designed for professional hydrological and environmental applications. As trusted suppliers to water management authorities, environmental agencies, and research institutions across the UK, we offer cutting-edge technology to accurately measure and record water flow and current in a variety of aquatic settings.

Our extensive selection includes tilt current meters, ultrasonic flow sensors, and clamp-on pipe flow meters suitable for rivers, streams, oceans, and water distribution systems. From cost-effective tilt current meters for long-term deployment in marine environments to sophisticated ultrasonic systems for real-time flow monitoring in pipes and open channels, our products cater to a wide range of applications in freshwater and marine ecosystems.

Lowell Instruments Tilt Current Meters provide water velocity measurement for a fraction of the cost of acoustic meters; they measure current using the drag-tilt principle. The logger is buoyant and is anchored to the bottom via a short flexible tether. Moving water tilts the logger in the direction of flow. The meter contains a 3- axis accelerometer and 3-axis magnetometer for measuring tilt and bearing.

Are you using the XBeach model?

Lowell Instruments Tilt Current Meters could be ideal for your project if you are using the XBeach two-dimensional model for wave propagation, long waves and mean flow, sediment transport and morphological changes of the nearshore area, beaches, dunes and back barrier during storms.
