A thermistor is a resistor whose resistance changes with temperature, as such, it's a type of temperature sensor. There are many different types of sensors out there, but the most common ones are resistors—and thermistors are resistors that change their resistance depending on how hot or cold they are.
We've been building them for over 40 years and our team knows them inside and out! We can help design a thermistor based temperature sensor based on your specifications and make sure it works perfectly in its application.
We manufacture thermistor based temperature sensors on-site, so we can build to any variation and specification.

The Power of Thermistor Temperature Sensors: A Quick Introduction Guide
Introduction:
Thermistor temperature sensors are critical components across various industries, from automotive to medical devices. Their ability to measure thermal conditions with precision underscores their importance. This guide will highlight the versatility of thermistor sensors and underscore their role in achieving accurate temperature monitoring.
Understanding Thermistor Temperature Sensors
A thermistor is a type of resistor whose electrical resistance is highly dependent on temperature. With resistance that decreases with rising temperature (NTC) or increases with rising temperature (PTC), thermistors are vital in providing temperature readings. Their applications range from household appliances to complex industrial machinery.
Types of Thermistor Temperature Sensors
The market offers an array of thermistors, each with unique characteristics. Understanding the distinction between Negative Temperature Coefficient (NTC) and Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) thermistors, for instance, is crucial for selecting the right sensor. Selection often hinges on environment, temperature range, and the sensitivity required.

Conclusion:
Thermistor temperature sensors are indispensable for precise temperature control and measurement. This guide underscores their importance and broad application range. We welcome you to explore how thermistor solutions can benefit your operations and to contact us for personalised advice.
Pipe clamp and clamp-on thermistor sensors
To measure pipe temperature without breaking into the pipe, a pipe clamp thermistor sensor clips onto the outside of the pipe or tube and gives a fast, repeatable surface reading. These clamp-on sensors suit heating and hot water systems, chilled water and HVAC pipework. Choose a fixed lead, or tails or a plug to connect to your instrument or logger, and tell us the pipe diameter so we can supply the right clamp. Thermocouple and Pt100 versions are also available: see pipe clamp thermocouples and Pt100 sensors.
